About Me
I am a mother of three and a Los Angeles native. I love to sing karaoke, go hiking, drink coffee and tequila (not usually at the same time) and beat my husband at Scrabble.
I see birth as the intersection between science and spirit. My role as a doula is to inform, educate and empower the new family and provide continuous emotional and physical support throughout labor and the postpartum period.
Hospital birth? Home birth? Epidural or no? My job is help you make the most informed decisions that are right for your family.

Connecting with Barbara as my husband and I were looking for a Doula was such a blessing! From the very first call, I felt incredibly valued, heard, and inspired. She has a beautiful gift of making you feel safe, just by talking through the phone.
We were due with our first baby in April and having Barbara as a support person was/is beyond my expectations. It was really important to us to have someone on our side that knew a little about everything - Barbara went beyond that! I really appreciated the prenatal classes to prepare both my husband and I for what was to come. She's hands-on, interactive, and judgement-free. I loved the way she made my husband feel more confident going into the labor and delivery process.
Our birth story was a dream and from the very moment we all arrived at the hospital, Barbara was encouraging and made sure my wishes were being respected by the nurses and doctors. She was the cheerleader everyone wants in their corner!
We're now a few weeks post delivery and she continues to check-in on us to see how everything is going, including coming over for a postpartum visit. I would absolutely recommend Barbara to my closest friends and family. This entire experience was so much better because of her!
Cynthia, Studio City
Our experience with Barbara was absolutely wonderful! She was very knowledgeable and made us feel so at ease with the whole process (which was very nerve wracking for my husband and me). I love that I was also able to text her day and night about my many worries and she was always very responsive and calming. But the best part was during the actual birth -- After 30+ hours of labor at that point, I didn't realize how stressed I was until she met me at the hospital and brought with her such peace and warmth. Through her massages, guiding me into various labor positions and encouraging me to get in touch with my baby and body, she took me from 3 cm to 10cm in just a few hours! I was beyond stunned. She made me feel so taken care of and I'm forever grateful. Writing this as I hold my healthy, beautiful newborn girl :)

After a surprise c section my husband and I found ourselves in need of a post partum doula for night care to help me and the baby while my hubby cared for our toddler. Barbara was amazing in caring for both me and the baby during that first month- I had never had overnight help with my first so didn't know what to expect and I can say it was totally worth it! I was always so happy when I knew Barbara was coming that night and I could get some much needed rest while my baby was well taken care of.

Barbara worked as my birth Doula, and it was clear from the moment we had our first consult, that she was extremely passionate about what she does. Her heart is 100% in everything she provides for mamas-to-be as well as their partners! Barbara is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to all things baby, and preparing mom and family for labor and delivery. She provided an immense amount of education pre-birth, as well as peace of mind and support to both my husband and I throughout the entire process of working together, as well as during the labor and delivery of my baby and the early post partum period. She was also fun to work with! Often in life, things don’t go as planned, and my L&D had unexpected challenges, despite it ending in the healthy birth of my beautiful baby girl! Barbara rolled with the difficulty I experienced and went above and beyond providing emotional and physical support during such a vulnerable and life changing time. She was also there for my husband with unwavering comfort and support during L&D. We truly don’t know where we would have been without her there to guide and support us.
In addition to her amazing services, Barbara is always encouraging and her positivity shined through during the time we spent with her. She remained available to us during the early post partum period, and checked in on our family consistently. Even now, we know that if there is anything we may have questions about, or need help finding referrals for any type of services, she will be able to help.
